"The hunt was well under way for the young Artemis. He was far away from the mansion he lived in, and still farther on would he go. He explored the woods, learned to find safety quickly when the rain came, find food and to ration what ever he could find to eat. He learned everything pretty quickly, but yet the whole thing was not over. He still had to find the right prey, before he could return home. He needed to find a Rothranach, an unusual but not rare creature. It reminded a lot about a cat-like animal, but was a lot faster, and more dangerous. They remained mostly hidden, and it was not every day you could manage to get a glimpse of a Rothranach, much less catch one. Artemis then needed to figure out exactly how he might catch one. The hours passed, and Artemis had stopped by near a cave and sought shelter for the night. The creature that lived in the cave, a Dever, had come back at night. A Dever reminded of a kind of warthog with large tusks and an extra pair of legs. And their extra legs made them much faster, and stronger than normal warthogs. But Artemis managed to chase away the beast, when he discovered that it was just a younger male.
It was now day 3 of Artemis' journey, and he came closer and closer to the spot where someone last saw a Rothranach. Artemis was going up a hill when he heard something .. a voice. And it .. sang? He rushed quickly up the hill and hid quickly behind a large boulder. He peeked down into the little glade below, and he could not believe his eyes. It was her! The little girl he saw six years ago .. Maria Darwin. She had grown up and become a really beautiful young woman. Artemis did not know what he would do, he really wanted to meet her! He stumbled backwards and rolled down the little hill and landed in front of a puddle.
- Hm? Is anyone there? called Maria hesitantly.
- Ouch! That will be felt tomorrow, 'said Artemis, looking down into the puddle.
Damn it, I almost forgot!
Artemis had forgotten that he still looked like a demon. It was only his wings that was hidden. He pulled himself up from the ground and ran behind a bush.
I know that mother did not want me to use my demon powers, but I can not look like this if Maria sees me!
- Hello?
Oh no! She must not see me!
Artemis quickly climbed up a tree before Maria appeared.

*Phew*, that was close.
*Phew*, that was close.
- Hmm .. I guess it was just my imagination, said Maria and started to sing again, as she strolled back to the little glade.
She is so beautiful.
Artemis leaned forward against a branch to see her better, when suddenly the branch broke, and Artemis fell down to the ground. He gave a little cry before he landed in a bush beneath the tree. Maria gave a start and turned around quickly.
- Is anyone there?!
- Ouch! Ehhh .. yes, I mean no, I-I mean .. oww my butt!
- Ouch! Ehhh .. yes, I mean no, I-I mean .. oww my butt!
Maria approached the bush slowly.
- Do you need any help? she asked questionable.
- No! Ehh, I'll manage! You don't need to-
- No! Ehh, I'll manage! You don't need to-
Maria grabbed Artemis' arm and pulled him out from the bush before he could finnish his sentence. Suddenly, he stood in front of her.
- Oh .. Hi there, Maria said.
Lucky! I managed to change shape!
- Erm .. hello.
Artemis could hardly believe it was true. He stood in front of the girl he never thought he'd see again!
- So there was someone there, how lucky, I thought I was going crazy, haha.
She smiled, and Artemis almost blushed.
- I've never seen you around here before, are you new in this area?
Artemis quickly pulled on a lie.
- Well, uh, yes I'm new around here.
She looked at his bow.
- So you are a hunter huh?
- Y-yes, I am!
- Y-yes, I am!
She giggled.
- And a shy one it seems?
This time, Artemis blushed.
- No, it's just, ouch!
Artemis pulled up his shirt sleeve and discovered a wound on his arm.
- Oh great.
- But, you're hurt. Here, let me help you.
- But, you're hurt. Here, let me help you.
Maria pulled out a piece of fabric that she had in her basket that she had with her. She calmly took hold of Artemis' arm and wrapped it gently around the wound.
- There, that should do the trick.
- Thank you.
- Thank you.
- No problem. But may I just ask one thing what did you actually do up there in the tree?
- I um ... I'm looking for something.
- What?
- Have you ever heard of a Rothranach?
- Well actually I think I have. There lives a small pack of them not very far from here.
- Really?!
- Yes. Do you want me to show you the way?
Artemis paused his thoughts.
What are you doing you idiot! You should not even talk to her! Your mother will kill you if she finds out about this!
- Yes, would you please show me?
Maria smiled at him, and they started to walk."
